In the Hours at Midnight Chapter 1 part 3

This class was Science not just any science but Astronomy. The shape of the stars, their names, and their lore.  All amazing and fun things to learn, besides, who wouldn’t want to know about the stars for dates and such, the ever present “that’s Orion over there” casually put arm around date, type of thing.

Soon after I took my seat Kael strides into the room to the front of the class introduces himself to the teacher Mrs. Jamie Robinson. A gentle motherly looking type of person with soft brunette curly hair and soft gray eyes that sparkle when she’s talking about something she enjoys. The best of the best some would say when considering romance or just advice in particular. She’s the “favorite teacher” one would say “most supportive” as well. I on the other hand could care for less cause soon as I saw Kael enter the room my world changed for the worse. Once again Kael was sent over to sit next to me. I got the feeling that every class will be like this, Kael introducing himself and ending up next to me. Granted being next to me isn’t hard since the only seat open is next to me.

Mrs. Robinson stood, after introducing Kael which pretty much everyone knew him now, and began class.
“Hello students.” She said cheerfully. “Welcome to Astronomy where stars are mapped out for all to see.” She smiles.

Class continued like that for a while. Since Mrs. Robinson wasn’t too into doing the regular orientation type stuff for her class she began teaching us about the stars.

“This.” She points at a map of the stars outlining a figure. “Is Orion, the most significant and easily found constellation other than the Little Dipper otherwise known as Ursa Minor or Little Bear.”

I took in all the information that Mrs. Robinson said not even bothering to look at Kael or the other students in the class. Watching and listening intensely to her, note taking, as well as making sure to get the assignments handed out. I really enjoyed the class and not a moment too soon the bell rang and off we were again to the next class. This time I walked taking my time when Kael walked up next to me.

I know it's been a while since I've posted anything about my story called In the Hours at Midnight so here's another part of Chapter One. Please enjoy. If you are confused about this just look at the older posts cause the Pre-face and Part One of Chapter One is there. Thank you and I really would appreciate some comments/feedback on any of this.

But as soon as I came back to reality so I could actually learn, I saw the glares every girl in the class were giving and wondering why, I looked around and finally noticed the tall, dark, handsome boy sitting next to me. He had the darkest black hair I’ve ever seen and seemingly gorgeous blue eyes not only that he was very elegant and strong looking, much different than any boy I’ve seen. He had an air of importance and knowledge like he already knew everything but was willing to learn more. Staring at him I realized that he sat closer to me than to anyone else in the room… of which I thought was weird, me being a social outcast and all. Seeing as I was used to being ignored this was new. Very new. Normally, I wouldn’t grab the attention of any boy in this small high school. But, unusually so, I noticed this particular boy kept glancing at me.
That was where all the glares came from. I’m sitting next to the “new” hottest boy in school and he’s paying more attention to me than all of them. ‘Great’ is what I thought. Now bringing a lot more attention to my weirdness.  Turning my attention away from the mysterious boy, I look back towards the front of the classroom.
Mr. Draconis began the usual class of the usual new year with handouts of the needed resources for the class. In this case being English, the teacher gave out a required reading list along with the list of supplies and rules for the class.  Mr. Draconis then asked us all to introduce ourselves starting with the students on the right..  Eventually, it finally came to the mysterious boy sitting next to me of which he gracefully stands up and says
“My name is Kael Ignatious Faron, nice to meet you all and I hope to get along with this lovely lady next to me as well as the rest of the class.”  He finished and sat down. I stared at him, blushing a major shade of red seeing as he’s the first guy to ever say I was lovely let alone to ever say anything nice about me.  Soon enough it was my turn to introduce myself.  Shyly I stood up said my name how pleased I was to be here, then quickly sat down. Pretty soon everyone had introduced themselves and class resumed.
“Whoever you are sitting next to today, will be your partner for the rest of the year so make sure you get to know each other well.” Mr. Draconis said. “You all will have group projects due throughout the year of which I will assign specially to you all by observing how well you and your partner work together.”

I began dreading this year already through the continuing glares by every female teenager, which are all probably high on hormones, in my class. One of which I really don’t want to get on her bad side considering she’s bullied me ever since I can remember, her name being Emily Jones, she looks all sweet and innocent but she’s a demon on the inside. She always places this goody-two-shoes act then turns around and stabs you in the back. I’ve been on her blacklist since I stood up to her a while back since she was bullying my best friend Mia Adams. So now I suppose since my partner for the entire year in English class is Kael I will end up having the worst high school experience for the rest of my high school life.

The bell rang during my thoughts of ‘how am I going to survive my senior year?” So I quickly got up and took off to my next class.
